Through providing vitamins and improving nutritional education, Vitamin Ambassadors will reduce the devastating consequences of malnutrition.

The immediate need is for vitamins. This will have a health benefit for the younger children and the unborn. We expect to see higher birth weights and a decrease in illnesses from this effort. Increasing health education is also extremely important. Countries like Guatemala export fruits and vegetables to the rest of the world yet these items are not consumed regularly in the local diet.

The cost of providing a child with a years supply of a daily vitamin is roughly $10. This is an excellent temporary solution for the problem. For this problem to be resolved permanently, however, the poverty in these countries will need to be significantly reduced.
